under a feather’s wound

Beneath the softest feather’s caress,
A wound lies hidden, a secret to address,
Tender to the touch, yet deep within,
A pain that yearns to be heard, not just seen.

The surface seems calm, a picture of peace,
But underneath, a storm rages, refusing to cease,
A fragile facade, a delicate veil,
Masking the anguish that refuses to pale.

A single touch, a gentle sway,
Awakens the ache, a cry for a way,
To heal the hurt, to mend the strife,
That dwells beneath the feather’s life.

Yet in this wound, a glimmer shines,
A spark of hope, a light that defines,
The strength to overcome, the will to endure,
For beneath the feather, a heart beats, pure.
