Sólstafir – Ótta

From the fhe fifth studio album of this Icelandic band. Icelandic again? Yes. The album is called “Ótta” and was released in 2014.

The KEXP gig here is very clean, not at all how I saw the band live. When I saw them, they were drunk, staggered and stumbled across the stage and poured Whiskey down each other’s throat. It was a riot. It was chaos. But even inebriated I knew I was witnessing a very talented band.

I saw them in 2013 with Long Distance Calling and a third band I can’t recall. Before then, I hadn’t known Sólstafir. They stole the show, that’s for sure.
