We stand at the edge, hearts pounding in sync,
Drawn to the heat of a connection so rare.
The warmth between us beckons, daring us to drink
From this cup of affection – yet doubt lingers there.
For we are more than friends, but less than lovers bound,
Suspended in a liminal space, afraid to take the leap.
The familiar safety of friendship surrounds,
While the unknown abyss of romance lies deep.
I gaze into your eyes, searching for a sign
-Do you feel this electric tension, this unspoken desire?
The precipice before us seems to blur the line,
Tempting us to abandon caution, to ignite the fire.
Yet the fear of losing what we already share
Holds us back from surrendering to love’s sweet embrace.
Must we forever remain in this in-between lair?
Or will we find the courage to fall into grace?
The choice is ours, the moment pregnant with potential
-To leap into the unknown, or remain safely apart.
The precipice awaits, our hearts the only essential
-Will we take the plunge and unite body, mind and heart?
