I am currently reading the book pictured above: Kurt by German author Sarah Kuttner. It was released last week.
Whenever I am asked about my favourite writer, I am reluctant to mention one, but this woman is definitely a favourite. Her books always touch me, her writing is flawless.
I am not sure if there are English translations but if you read German, try “MƤngelexemplar” or “180Ā° Meer”.

Yes. I like it simple like that. The book is about a woman who is in a relationship with a man who has a child from a previous relationship. The child passes away and everyone grieves in their own way. The book is very moving, but never mushy. It is very raw and real… Something I always love about this writer.

That could come in handy. It is easy to read though, but since I am fluent in German (and other languages) it is easy for me to say.
