imagine dragons – hear me

Yesterday marked the end of the marathon concert month November.
Imagine Dragons was the last band for that month and honestly, after listening to the CD, I really asked myself why I bought tickets for that show in the first place. I didn’t like it.
But, I was in for a surprise.

I was the biggest concert I ever was in closed hall. A sold out show at at venue that has capacity for circa 6500 people.
We stood (as always) on the right side. but very close to the stage (4th or 5th row) The band had all sorts of drums and several drumsets on stage. It had nothing to do with the synthesizer-pop on their album. The band, and most prominently the singer, seemed to be really overwhelmed at times, brushing away many tears. They came across as really sympathetic.
The sound for the first few songs was awful and I should also admit, that I felt claustrophobic with all the people around and they had heavy fog in the hall. I hate that.

In the end, the show was really good. Not the best, but definitely not the worst I’ve seen either. Guest bands were ‘of moths and flames’ who I didn’t like at all and Liverpool based singer/songwriter Dan Croll who had a few good songs and some so-so ones.

Tonight, I’m going to see Ă“lafur Arnalds and Douglas Dare. I’m going to tell you about that tonight or tomorrow 🙂

have a good Sunday!
