Looking ahead to 2025

Isn’t it too early to do that? No, it isn’t. If people can put up their Christmas decorations on November 1st, I can surely tell you about my upcoming projects.

With 2025 around the corner, I’m excited to share some of the projects I’ve been working on. Next year will bring three new releases: a poetry collection, a collection of short stories, and a multilingual poetry anthology. Two of these manuscripts are ready to go, while the third still needs a bit of polishing.

The poetry collection, The Weight of Light, dives into themes of light and shadow, exploring the moments we carry quietly within us. The short story collection, which I’m thinking of calling A Life in Frames Vol. 2, features revised and edited versions of stories you may have read on my blog, along with two or three brand-new ones. The themes are familiar—love, loss, insecurities, and mental health—centred around human connection, much like my poetry. It’s a continuation of the journey I’ve been on, exploring the bonds we share and the struggles we face.

The multilingual poetry anthology is a project I’m particularly excited about. Over the years, I’ve had people tell me they find it difficult to read my poetry because it’s in English. This sparked the idea of writing the same poem in multiple languages I know: English, French, and German. I’m still debating whether to include Luxembourgish, but the aim is to maintain the intensity and emotional impact of each piece, no matter the language. Capturing the nuances and emotional undertones in different languages is a challenge, but it’s one I’m eager to take on.

Recently, I’ve also been exploring spoken poetry. It started when I realised that the words I hear so vividly in my mind sound completely different when spoken aloud. This has pushed me to think about rhythm, tone, and how each word lands when spoken. It’s thrilling but also a bit nerve-wracking, as I explore whether the magic of written language translates in performance. Spoken poetry is a new frontier for me, and it’s been fascinating to work with words in this way.
