And so it is… (Part 2)

The first post of the year 2023 was titled And so it is. I thought it was a nice touch to name the last one the same. Because what I wrote at the beginning of the year is still and again valid at the end of the year.

2023 was again a year of change, of challenges and of uncertainties in some areas of my life. Mostly, career wise. Once again, like every year since 2021, I changed jobs and careers, and once again, I am quite content and happy where I am right now. I wanted to be a teacher for a while now, but I lacked the self-confidence to try my luck. After all, the number of teaching positions for someone with my diploma are very rare and sought-after. I want to say that I was lucky, and maybe I was, but I also got the job because of my experience, my age, and where I am in life. I am settled. Yes, that’s safe to say.

For years I have been chasing a ghost of something unknown. I just wasn’t content with anything or maybe, subconsciously, I didn’t allow it.

This year, I learnt to be more laid back, to allow failures, but also successes. I still get overwhelmed sometimes and these last few nights have been sleepless again, but that’s okay. For me, it is okay right now.

If I could change one thing in 2023, it would probably be the advertisement for WORD THIEF. It’s a bit of a disappointment that I didn’t sell more copies, that the songs weren’t heard more, and that this project that was so very dear to my heart was not received in a different way. (If you click the link, it will lead you to a post where the songs and everything else is shared.)

So, this is 40 for me. I am 40 years old this year and I like this age a lot. I don’t like the number 41 that is fast approaching, but that is something petty, I think.

I noticed that my favourite number is 57, my favourite colour is dark violet, my favourite film is A Few Good Men, my favourite song at the moment is this: Soen – hollowed, and my favourite book is – every book I am reading at that moment (which is none at the moment – odd!)

I wish you all a very happy new year. You’ve got this. And if not, get in touch, I always have an open ear and eye for everyone.

Thank you for everything you did for and with me this year. It is never taken for granted.

Do you have questions for me? Requests?

Lots of love from me to you 💖
