I have been working for about 20 years (on and off – I stayed with the kids for a number of years). I was always active in the socio-educational sector, always here in small Luxembourg. It has been a wonder that I didn’t come across people I knew from school. That was, until I started the teaching job back in September. And suddenly, I ran into three people I met at different times in my life at school, and one with whom I worked in a prior job. (All in just three short months)
These people have an image of me in their heads, just like I have a memory of them too. I admit, they are exactly where I thought they would be, but I wonder if they think the same about me.
And, something nice happened yesterday: I got an invitation for a Christmas party from my former team. They said because I was an important part of the team for much of 2023 I should be there celebrating with them. I worked my last day there in early August… I am not sure if I deserve to be there. But, I said that I would go and I am looking forward to seeing my old colleagues again. I didn’t ask who else would be there, and I suspect that the ones I really would love to see will not be present, but that’s weirdly okay. I am happy they remembered me and invited me.
COVID seems to be almost done. I still experience shortness of breath, tiredness, my back and head ache… But all in all, I am okay. Same for my kids, only Giulia complains that her neck hurts. Giulia never gets sick, so when she is for once, she really is sick. Poor gal.
Anyway… Enjoy your Tuesday… I am off grocery shopping. Do you need anything?
