It’s official

As of today, I am out of work. I worked my last shift last Tuesday, but today (actually starting tomorrow, my contract is dissolved). Four weeks before the teaching job starts. And then I will have shorter hours, a longer daily commute and less pay. But in the end it will be worth it. Today, I visited my new working space. It’s nice. Nothing unusual. There are little tables and little chairs. Colours and puzzles. Dolls and cars. Scissors and scotch tape. There is a playground and a little (adapted) bathroom. Everything is there. I spoke for two hours with my team-mate. She had her kids with her. She showed me around, told me about the job and her expectations from me. She also told me about my predecessor and… Yeah… I can see myself there. It’s not easy to start a new job. I know that very well. It’s not easy to become a part of a team. But I am confident.

Always confident. I know I have many flaws and faults and eccentricities, but I am good in my job and an asset for every team, for sure.

It’s time for bed now. Tomorrow is a holiday here in Luxembourg. On Wednesday I am back on mummy-taxi duty. On Thursday, my husband and I will celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary (we’ve been a couple for 23 years). On Friday, I will finally have an evening all to myself and then it’s already the weekend again.

Time flies. Doesn’t it?
