Once, there was a moment when all your broken pieces turned into a puzzle. It took time, and passion and dedication to understand that I did not want to fix you. It was not my mission nor my power to make you whole again. I was in your life to remind you that your chipped edges and your small and big imperfections were lovable. I was in your life to help you make sense of everything that held you back, made you sad or kept you up at night. I was never your reason to be, but for a while, I was your reason to see. And when the fog lifted and life had new meaning, it was my time to slip away. Slowly fading. Waking up after dreaming.
