On September 12th, I started my new job. And so far, I really like it. Of course, everything is new and different and there is a lot to process. But really and honestly, I missed the work with the kids so much. And I feel content right now. There is a slight smile or grin on my face almost all the time and even though I am very tired in the evenings from being on my feet all day, I feel something close to happiness.
My bosses surprised me with a new title, with more responsibility than most have in my team. Of course, it raised eyebrows when it was announced during a meeting, but those people ignored that my bosses know me well and apparently the praise they gave me when I left all that time ago was not something said lightly and without weight. That’s quite awesome too. In my team (of 17 people) there are only 3 older than me, that’s a bit weird, but okay. I mean, I don’t get younger either.
So far, so good. We’ll see if it lasts, but it would be awesome if it did.
All of my kids are at Lycée now (our equivalent of highschool). My youngest even made it to an elite school that has a lot of prestige. She tends to be a bit lazy sometimes, but I think the fact that she was accepted might give her a boost. Today was her first day. The two older will starts school on Monday.
It was an exciting week indeed

Wow! Sounds like a great (re)start! A bit ironic that you got a new title but couldn’t think of one for the post. Hope it all continues in the positive direction for you.

Hehe, I could have called it “chef d’équipe et référent pédagogique pour les devoirs à domicile” but that is long and French 😂
