“I… you… she…” Cody pointed at me and at Ava and looked helplessly over to his older brother.
“I think you covered that quite brightly kiddo.” Cameron teased. “It’s good to see that you remember Noel.” It was as if he was doing introductions without doing them. Cody looked back at me and I saw it. The patented Cody smile.

I had been happy to see Scott earlier, but now I wondered if he had told Cameron that I was back and that I was working at Ritchie’s. And if Cameron knew, I was sure Cody would know too. Why hadn’t Cody sent me a message? I had written that I would come home. Why wasn’t he interested in me anymore? I pushed that last thought away again. I had already come to terms with the fact that I didn’t know the man Cody had become and I was just as much a stranger to him as he was to me.

We had a home and it was only a matter of time until I would meet old and new friends again. Ava was only four months old when I started working at the café. Most of the time, she slept contently on my chest and when she wasn’t, she stared at me or at the world with her big blue eyes. With her pink hat, people recognized that she was a girl and it was easy to get to talk to customers with her.
Continue reading “you’re still the one 2”“You’re still the one” is a novella I wrote in 2015. It was the second book of a trilogy, the others being called “I think I am falling for you” and “Every Second, Forever”. The latter has been posted in its entirety on this blog.
The posts are scheduled to be shared every other day… (19 chapters in total). Now, the story has not been rewritten or revised, this is how I wrote it all those years ago. It can be read like this (that’s why I share it) but a couple of potholes prevail.
This is one of the stories I thought I had lost but found again a couple of weeks ago.
I am quite aware that these stories are not for everyone, but I am proud of my writing, of the stories I thought up in my mind, of the characters I created. Of course there is a lot and I mean A LOT of room for improvement.
But anyway, come with me on this journey. A journey that accompanies Noel and his daughter Ava as they move back into the town they left. They encounter old loves and new interests while Noel also is confronted with old emotions and new feelings.
I will, of course, keep posting daily; though on the days a part of the novel is shared, I will refrain from posting a second time. Enjoy the story.
