Thursday Song

M83 – skin of the night

From the album “Saturdays = Youth” (2008)

I heard this song for the first time today and liked it instantly.

I had a very very long day. And tonight, I had a drink. Yay me. I am stressed, I admit.

Years ago, I received this:

T E Morris – Love Is A Bird To Carry Us (2014)

It’s a CD, the first of 250. I still love it. It is not just music, it is so much more… It is a piece of art.

Hopefully that link works… A very special song. For me it is.

Another throwback:

I am not sure if I ever shared anything like this before or after on this very blog. It is one of my favourite posts, and it is the most successful too. Spiked with music and little facts about me. That post… It matters.

Tonight, my daughter asked about my CD collection. Everyone who knows me knows that once I get talking about it, i will not stop. There are many signed rarities that i love and I love to explain all about it. My charming daughter though is quite pragmatic. “I don’t care too much. I just want to know what is valuable and will sell well and what should be thrown out once you are gone.” I gulped in shock before i laughed out loud. Giulia is right… None of that will matter to anyone once I am gone.

Wednesday Song

David Gilmour – wish you were here (live)

I think, this song does not need any words. Just enjoy.

Crying day today. I feel lost.

No title

When I sense that people are agitated and anxious, I remind them to breathe and to unclench their jaws. Some look at me as if I am stupid for even suggesting it.

We all know how to breathe; we are doing it all the time, but when we are in distress, our breathing gets shallow, and our body suggests we need more air to fill our lungs. We feel like suffocating during panic attacks or anxiety attacks. At worst, it ends with hyperventilation and the fear of dying. Remembering to breathe in through the nose and exhale through the mouth, helps to calm down. It gives us something to focus on when everything else is overwhelming.

When we are stressed, angry, nervous… we tend to put our teeth together, grinding our molars – clenching our jaw. Maybe it is to prevent us from saying something stupid, or from screaming. But, our entire body gets rigid like that. Our neck gets tense and our back too. Once again, breathing right becomes problematic because we prevent it physically. And it’s not good for our teeth. Loosening the jaw and the entire face muscles looses tension in our body too. And again, it helps to relax because blood flows easier through the bodies and oxygen levels get better again.

Observe those things in yourself, maybe it helps…

Tuesday Song

Depeche Mode – wrong

Sounds of the Universe was released in 2009. It was the twelfth studio album of this British Band (and the 46th single they released in the UK)

I have been a fan of Depeche Mode for a long long time. My first ever CD I bought from my own money was from Depeche Mode in 1993. Awesome band. As a teenager, my bedroom was covered in posters of River Phoenix and a particularly large one from Dave Gahan (singer of Depeche Mode). Though… Most of my favourite DM songs are sung by Martin L. Gore. (Like somebody)

Before i begin a lengthy discourse, I will leave you with the song.

Lots of love from me to you. And remember, there is nothing wrong about you or with you. Be yourself. Love yourself, just the way you are.

Monday Song

Death by Chocolate – give us a reason

The Swiss band Death by Chocolate released the above song on their second studio album called “crooked for you” (2017)

I like the energy of this song.

It was a long day with a ten-hour shift, but it was a good one.

a year has passed

One year had passed, and Susana was still feeding off the experience she had shared with Maria and Mark. For a short time, she had been invited into their couple. Everything clicked. It was like once in a lifetime kind of magic. Maria and Mark shared every intimacy, every fantasy, and every wish with Susana, and after some few weeks of dreaming and fantasising, it all culminated in a threesome. The act as such was not what had stayed in Susana’s mind all this time; it was little things. Smells, sounds, words that were said, and one moment in particular.

She was too loud, she knew she was, but she couldn’t keep it in. He was above her, and she tried to hide herself and be quiet. She covered her face with her arm and bit it hard, but he did not allow her to hide. He took her arm away with a little bit of force. Their eyes met, and few things happened at once: she felt exposed, seen, and vulnerable. But there was something else in his eyes, something she couldn’t forget even after twelve months.

A long time had passed since that moment; Susana was not even sure if Mark remembered it the same way (or even at all) and if it held the same magnitude for him. Probably not. There had not been much contact between the three after that very intimate weekend. Susana, however, couldn’t deny that it had changed her. It had changed the way she looked at herself and the way she looked at other people. She noticed that she was less open to strangers but more honest with herself. And whenever she thought of Maria and Mark, she was filled with a sense of gratitude and awe for them.

“We are going to keep her,” Mark had said with a chuckle while Maria made Susana the centre of the universe.

It hadn’t worked out that way in the end, and yet, in a way, a little part of Susana was still, and would always be, theirs.

Sunday Song

Our Ceasing Voice – until your chest explodes

Taken from the 2013 album “that day next November” by the Austrian band Our Ceasing Voice.

I love that song.

A little thing typically me: i was at work this afternoon. At 8, I took my stuff, said my goodbyes and walked to my car. I start the car and see the time. Couple minutes after 8. And then I realise. I was supposed to work until 9! So… I went back inside. I was asked if I forgot something and I replied: one hour of work. And how was your day. rofl I am home now (Rightfully) and poured myself a large beer. I deserve it.

I was lost where I never thought I’d be lost. And through the darkness and the flowing rivers, I was taken away. Ten thousand miles underwater, and still, I was not dying enough to end this sorrow. I was lost where I never thought I’d be lost. The inside of my gloomy self was not comforting anymore; my mind woke up. Endless seconds spent in my cage; all spent in vain. I was found where I never thought I’d be lost.Β

We water soil and expect a result. Sometimes, with a lot of time and love and care, out of the earth grows a flower. Something beautiful that warms the heart and fills us with gratitude.

Sometimes, even though we invest all our energy into the simple task of nurturing a little patch of dirt, nothing happens, and we are left with a puddle of mud.

Some things are not meant to be glamorous and fulfilling; they are intended to test our resolve and be lessons for the future.

Friday Song

Shawn Mendes – in my blood

From the 2018 album called Shawn Mendes.

Help me, it’s like the walls are caving in
Sometimes I feel like giving up
No medicine is strong enough
Someone help me
I’m crawling in my skin
Sometimes I feel like giving up
But I just can’t

Shawn Mendes – in my blood

Another surprise song, I guess. πŸ™‚ Enjoy.
