Funeral for a Friend – escape artists never die

From the album “casually dressed and deep in conversation” (2003)

Why this song?

Today is Welsh Language Music Day. Funeral for a Friend are a Welsh band. I was reminded of them in a Spotify playlist with many Welsh artists (Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, Tom Jones, Bonnie Tyler, Catatonia (not to confuse with the Swedish metal band Katatonia)… My morning started with listening to Gruff Rhys. Another Welsh musician.

So, after hearing a song in that playlist, I went to their profile page and listened to them. Quite a gape between the music of Funeral for a Friend and Gruff Rhys… But that’s me.

Years ago, I had a thing for all things Welsh, and I discovered so many brilliant bands and artists – apart from the obvious ones I already knew. I listened to this band a lot too for a while, but I forgot about them again. I am not sure why. It happens.

Have a good one…
